Hi, I'm Peter Vasilik.
A self-taught composer for film, games, theater, and the occasional artist record — based in Austin, Texas.
I began playing the piano in 2016, learning from YouTube tutorials and a great deal of listening. By 2020 the songs I had been writing for myself had become songs I was releasing for other people. I have been self-taught the entire time — which means the creativity I have is my own, rather than something given to me.
When I join a project, I ask only one question; what is this supposed to make a person feel? And by this process I cultivate that feeling in my work so that the emotion that is required is created in the song.
For the people I work with, that restlessness comes with discipline. I make my decisions inside the guidelines I am given, and I bring everything creative I can without ever stepping outside the bounds of the project.
The project that I want to work on the more would be for a small indie game with a tragic story — but if you are building anything at all that needs a score, I would be glad to hear about it.
